These guys are getting smart

Recently I've been seeing names like this, (ex. Nmnnmnmnmn Nmnm)

And it worked.. I couldn't put their name into report properly. Sneaky bastards

You couldn't look at his name and copy his name??? Uhhhhh okay... But this is nothing new, last time I got pm'd by a gold spammer it was some random stuff with letters that looked close to each other. Nothing new.

The guy who made him worked hard to confuse me, I respect that! So I just let him go. It's not like everyone else and their mother didn't report him.

I remember old games with passwords. It was next to impossible to distinguish the letters because of the font they used.
I sat there wondering why my password didn't work. Was it l or 1 O or 0?!

Was my first characters name, about a week our two after the game came out. I'm seeing that name all over the place anymore, kind of makes me proud.

I'm wondering how people do this, but it's not a problem because I just put them on ignore and by the time I remember that I put them there they'll have stopped.

You don't even need to do that. Simply click on their name as if to return a whisper, then copy+paste it into ignore list.

Its strange though. I have played GW for 1700 hours and untill yesterday Ive never seen any of such advertisements. Suddenly yesterday I got 2 of those whispers :S

Wish they would remove the ability for trail accounts to pm messages unless the trail account is in the others friends list. That way legit people will be able to find their friends in the game and bots are back to farming only.

Hate to say this but never had this problem until the servers went open. Any chance we can roll back the servers so that I do not have to constantly put up with these?

Report doesn't work, just create a new account.
Block doesn't work, eventually will creat a new account.

i've seen them duplicate peoples IGN's,
i.e: replace the 'i' with a 'l' and viseversa

Real Person IGN: Ice Magic Man
Bot IGN: lce Magic Man

Spot the difference?

all it would take is someone incompetent like the OP to report the real person.

obviously anet would check the logs before taking action, but they have been known to ban innocents.
